Hello Everyone!
Fun News! I was chosen as one of the winners at the Philadelphia Songwriters Project 2010 Songwriting competition! yay! The other three chosen were, Johnny Miles, Ryan Tennis, and The Fleeting Ends... also Julie Clark and Damon Hamilton are alternates.
What this means is that I get more opportunities to perform more for you this summer! So keep an eye on the schedule!
Thank you to everyone who came out to the competition support me... and to all of you who sent me wonderful wishes and nourishing energy! I am deeply grateful for all of you...
I am also extremely grateful to all the other artists I shared the evening with. The evening of Finals were filled to the brim with incredible talent and creatively diverse songwriters and performers.
Highlights of the evening included: Mary Bichner, playing solo on her sparkly pink guitar who consistently continuesto be one of my favorite local songwriters and performers; Amanda Duncan who's authenticity started the whole even off with sing along fun, laughter, and a song with a chorus that is still playing in my head as I write this; Charolette Littlehales who ended the afternoon with truly beautiful and thoughtful melodies; Eric Mitchell who got me dancing to his awesome grooves and fun tunes; Liz Miller who I've known for her award winning songwriting but just recently started performing...she was a natural; Nick Annism, a traditional folk songwriter, who's touching songs provoked us all to be more active in my community and to exercise our freedoms to speak up; and Casey Cattie who's incredible voice blew me away... and shes only 15! And then we even got a serenade from amazingly musical and talented Alexandra Day who performed for us as we waited for the votes to be counted...
Wow!
So thanks again, to all of you!
I look forward to seeing you at some festivals this summer!
PS. a special thanks to Alec Meltzer and Guavabyte for sharing their creative energy and time on this website!
